Power Major Oil Pressure
Dear Brian, Thanks for the help, again. I pulled the crank pulley, gear cover, and the intermediate gears so that I could spin the auxiliary shaft, and fairly quickly got oil pressure. Then after reassembling the gears I cranked the motor with the starter and got about 30 PSI. Does that seem about r...

Power Major Oil Pressure Problem
Dear Fordson Folks, I'm finishing up a total rebuild on my FPM motor, and I have a problem with oil pressure. After I installed the head but before the fuel system was reassembled, I cranked the motor (with the starter, decompression engaged) to check oil pressure and had zero. The dipstick says ful...

Hi Dietmar, I'm looking for the steel bowl on the bottom of the main air cleaner that holds the oil for the oil bath. (Apparently sometimes it also holds water.) Regards, John in SC

Crankcase Ventilation Inlet Filter?
Hello everyone. I'm putting together a Fordson Power Major which was kind of a basket case, and I'm in need of some advice about the air inlet pipe on the gear cover. All I have is a cover with a pipe sticking out the top, and I'm thinking there must have been a filter of some sort but it's gone now...

Injector Lock Washers?
Hello everyone. I'm putting together a Fordson Power Major which was kind of a basket case, and I'm in need of some advice about the fuel injector bolts. When I removed them, the two bolts securing each injector nozzle DID NOT have any lock washers or other retaining feature other than prevailing to...

Baffle in Valve Cover?
Hello everyone. I'm putting together a FPM which was kind of a basket case, and I'm in need of some advice about the valve cover. It's the style with the holes around the edge, and inside the cover towards the top there's most of a steel sheet welded to the cover. It looks like a baffle to keep oil ...
