Mate I'm glad you got the problem solved...mind you I'm disappointed you didn't try to adjust the voltage regulator that was on it originally.... Maybe thats just a mean streak in me or possibly I dont want to feel like the only twit that has jumped like a frightend school girl when the engine vibra...

Hey Aldo hows things south of the border? I stand corrected. I have had sleeves dressed to a tolerance fit of 4 thou previously for different applications. I guess if you can do it without the machine work it's even better. You live and learn.

If the Generator is producing a charge when bridging the terminals yet no charge is making it to the battery, wouldn't this indicate the fault would lie with the voltage regulator ? And isn't that regulator fun to get at and try to adjust with the motor running.... bump..spark..:yikes: jump. b...

Around here in Australia cost would be somewhere between $40 - $60 at a machine shop depending on what the rogues charge their labour out at. If it's done on mates rates it would be ...

Re: Dexta sump oil leak

Front end has to come off from memory. Make sure you replace the front and rear half moon cork seals whilst you have it off. Otherwise you'll be splitting the tractor thinking the rear main seal has gone when it hasn't...like I did...twice.

 WOW. Well done young Man. She is acredit to you and your dedication.
Am envisaging a photo of you standing next to her looking at Stefan standing next to his old girl when he has finished restoring her.
Who would want to judge the winner of that competition ? :eyes:

Can you tell me what the access point to the sump pan on the right hand side is for. :?: I noticed the plate in the photo taken from the right hand side of you sitting on Dotty.

:( I'm sorry, but that to my mind is an absolute waste of a Dexta. Everything behind that behemoth engine is about to become trash. There is absolutely no way the power in that engine can be utilised, making the whole process of installing it a waste of time. What's next ? Wings and a periscope on a...
