I just remember what the numbers are: 32 vs 26 theeth. More theeth, bigger gear that needs more space, so bigger casting. So it is all related

Or make a picture from the backside of the pto gearbox. the rusty one is the NP pto box in the pictures below, the other one is an 1962/ 1963 super pto box https://i.postimg.cc/h4QDTkJ9/IMG-20200416-184725.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/WzZsVZR9/IMG-20200416-184923.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/N0NskY7x/IMG-20...

the injection pump and coupling needs to be removed. It should be possible to pry out the seal from there
I'm not sure, but the seal size might be different on the NP super major

Hey, Mervin,
most suppliers do have the o-ring kit. you will need to order the paper gasket separately. Sometimes you can also order the plugs.
Agriline does now have a full kit also: https://agrilineproducts.com/ford-fords ... ices-50036

I'm wondering how the ball end of the gear stick looks like. If there's a lot of play it can be difficult to change gears.

Hi Sandy,
yes I own the 2 books myself. All pictures are made by members of blue force to highlight all models. There are pictures on the Ford 1186, Sem conversion and also the Australian fords
Here are some random pictures out of the book.

Yes you might have a gearbox seal issue, did you check the level in the gearbox.
Only if you have a creeper box, you need more oil. About 40liters is the standard.

Oil bath filter - seal
About 7 years ago I installed a new oi bath filter on the super major, as the clamp was worn and the bottom part was beyond repair. It went with a V-type seal, but through the years it was always a pain in the ass to install and it never sealed well. Today I got it apart and found the seal had come ...

Re: solenoid troubles
Yes, in this picture the cable is probably taken off. I need to put a new crimping end on it. Might get that fixed first and use the solenoid from another tractor to see if it's working. All might be caused by a bad connection, as there where sparks there in the past :s The tractor is now a bit far ...

Yes, the new seal is like twice the side.
I did cut it in half...
The split pins could be installed right away.

Thanks and regards, Huub Hello Huub, the pto drop box does have a different size on a new performance tra...

The seal depends if you have a new performance tractor or not. The double lip is for the new performance tractor. All others have 2 seals back to back
