Super major injector pipe seals

Post by Kre1979 »

Hi all,

Any suggestions on how best to seal the rubber injector pipe seals that are in the side of the head?
I've fitted new ones and to be honest, not much better than the old ones even with liberal amounts of a sealant paste.

Many thanks

Kev

Hi Kev
When i put them in i use a silicone sealer that sets rather than a Hylomar type that stays kinda liquid. I put it on the fitting that the pipe screws on so when the rubber pushes down it smears the sealer up the back of the rubber. then put it in the groove where the rubber sits in the head. I have still had them leak after a few months sometimes so it may be one of those things that's annoying  .

Thanks Robert.
Looks like they are leaking where the pipe goes through, there is a small metal clip on the inside, not sure wether to try to tension it?

Hi Kev
I have never tried that just the silicone round the inside of there so give it a go and see what happens they leak anyway so surely it cant make it worse. :)
