Re: Been fishing
I just looked at these pictures again Is this a pretty rare tractor. As it looks to me like it's a power major depending how much of a Hienze 57 it was before its salty bath
. and it looks like it has industrial brakes on the outer axle ends Any comments Brian or others

Re: Been fishing
You are right Robert, looks like a single pedal too!
A lot of good stuff ended its days on the beaches around the coast, my story about the Catapillar D2 on Runcton beach near Cromer in Norfolk is a case in point.
Since the decline of the fishing industry around the Norfolk coast, there has not been the call for those old tractors. Nuffields and Majors along with Field Marshalls were in constant demand in the 1960's. Can't see the modern "electronic" tractor standing up to years in sea water as those ones did.
They were driven out until nearly totally immersed, hitched to the boats and pulled them in or launched them.

I will take this on no problem! Can of easy start and kano kroil, she'll be running in no time (yeah right). Seriously though, i reckon its saveable...........
Oh yay, look, another seized bolt! Lets get a hammer.....and some kano.....and some cider!
Re: Been fishing
Hi Nick Glad to see you still have a sense of humour
I reacon the only bit that would be any good might be one or two tyres depending how much salt water affects the rubber and wires in the beads. You thought you had problems getting yours of the beads. I bet these would be ignorant and a half
. It looks to me like the oil filler plugs have corroded away and she'd be full to the top with salty water
. I would put money on it heading to the hot pot in the sky and being re incarnated as a Toyota

Re: Been fishing
Its amazing what sea water will do, even to a fordson major! Although, i was just thinking. The titanic has been under water for 90years, and in the videos you see it looks to be in better condition than this major.
I reckon you could save the engine side rails, front tombstone, front wheels, maybe one tyre
, the sump?
Luckily i do still have a sense of humour after un-seizing my last engine. Ive decided that i want a little dexta next................
