A vison of beauty

Post by MartyBoyce »

I tinker with being a Bush Poet so penned this one today dedicated to my Fordson Major

Beauty

The first time I laid eyes on her my heart had skiped a beat
I gazed upon her curves reflected in the summer heat
sure the years were hard on her , but I could see the fire
an untamed beauty , owning her became my one desire

two years would pass befofre I laid my eyes on her again
two years neglected , left outside, to suffer in the rain
the leaking seals spewed oil , the hydraulic lines were shot
she couldnt raise her bucket , on the ground she marked her spot

She's mine now , they delivered her upon a flatbed truck
I could see the beauty shining through the oil and the muck
She started with a splutter , then she roared back into life
she was safe now in her new home far away from all the strife

A new life for my beauty , first thing , fix hydraulic seals
then pressure wash the motor , engine bay and all the wheels
Some hard graft will be asked of her , there's plenty yet to do
then a pull down and a rebuild , I will make her good as new

Some say that she is ugy , just a relic from the past
new tractors do it better and new tractors do it fast
but to me she is a beauty , every curve and classic line
My old Blue Fordson Major , hell to me she'll do just fine

Well done.
Your not by any chance from Aussie are you? (the reference of bush poet)
After reading the poem, you'll now have to change your signiture below, to make reference to your vision of beauty.

Thanks all , yeah I will get the camera out on the weekend and put up some pics . Of interest to me is that she has the horizontal exhaust system that runs underneatht the undercariage and exits near the rear end , I'm not sure if these were an after market set up or possibly a modification to fit the arms for the bucket . Anyways will put up some pics for viewing and comment . She is a bit of a bush pig to look at right now but still a beauty in her own way :D

KK has got the right of it -- perhaps 'Bush Balladeer' might be a good signature. Good stuff, though!
Bit concerned about the underslung exhaust -- re bushfires.

yeah it is a concern having the underslung pipe , basically means she will be parked over summer unless it is raining , I'm sure there is a way to direct the exhaust upwards again , pics to follow TODAY
