removing timing case

Hi all, does anyone know if its possible to remove timing case with eng, rad etc still in place - i have removed the crank pulley, and it looks as if cover will clear etc!Anyone done this ? any tips etc? Its a `59 power major by the way. Thanks in advance, rich. :lol:

Hi Rich,

You mean the case, that is bolted on the engine-plate with several bolts? When you have the crank pulley off, I don't see any
problems. Perhaps some oil?

Please be carefull to remember which bolts belongs in which wholes. Some of the bolts have different screw thread :!:

I would wonder what you can do with just the cover of , apart from change the pulley oil seal? there aint much room in there, or maybe changing the seal is all you want to do.

That was a common thing to do when we were servicing them.
