Bent Clutch Link Rod

I'm still vibrating cuz I just picked up my 1959 (9/59) Power Major. When I bought it I knew that the PTO clutch wasn't disengaging and the Main Trans clutch was marginal. I figured I'd have to rebuild the whole clutch and bought it at the right price for that to happen. NOW that I've had a chance to investigate, I've found the clutch linkage is pretty well bent and I figure this could be a good part of the problem.
My question .... should I cold bend this rod straight or should I heat it to bend. If I heat it to bend should I just let it air cool or should I cool it in oil or water to temper it???? ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the board, just take it off and put it in a vice, it will straighten very easily. Use the stop pin in the upper hole on the bracket unless doing PTO work. It will save clutch wear and give you constant running hydraulics.

Thanks for the welcome and great advice. This is my first tractor and I don't have my manuals yet so little things like that hadn't occurred to me yet.
This is going to be my winter project here in the great northWET and then I'll ship it over to my acreage in the spring.

It may not be there at the moment, Mike is away.
This site and the manuals pages have been under attack for some months now and the information on the manuals server keeps being deleted by unknown forces. Until Mike gets back and has time to strengthen the defence, we can only reload and try again.
You would not believe that people would do such things. We have had nearly 1000 "funnies" register in the past month and it takes JC, Kiwi Kev and me all our time to keep it clear and running. Oscar and Mike are away on business.
