PTO Size

Hey guys, just wondering what the PTO size is for my '59 Power Major. The spec sheets say 1 3/8", but my 1 3/8" shaft is too small. It fits my 2N, which also specs at 1 3/8" so that kinda leaves me wondering. Thanks in advance!

Not sure about Fordson, but the 2N,9N,8N, NAA, and early number series Fords had a 1 and 1/8th PTO. They make an aftermarket sleeve to make up the difference. I've replaced a number of shafts for customers that have twisted the smaller shaft with the larger replacment shaft also. Dandy Dave!

That's quite strange, why does my FO4 manual say 1 and 3/8" for the N then? Just wondering...

it could be that the book is wrong ford had this problem with wrong info in there books, If the OEM cant get it right i'm sure I&T can mess it up too
, Brian being a genuine Fordson trained mechanic hates those book with a passion ,But I find if a guy has half a brain to figure it out in an I&T it can better than working totally blind some times
.
