Buying bits for a 3 point linkage

Post by MartyBoyce »

Looking at the back of my Blue Beauty (55 Major) can anyone tell me what I need to buy , scrounge , barter for to set up a three point linkage? I'm pretty sure I will need to remove the belt pulley from the PTO . The seat that is on it is not original and has a bodged up mount and will need to be replaced as it would end up sitting up too high with the hydraulic lift arm plate sitting on the back end but that is OK I want the original on it. So apart form the actual hydraulic bit with the lift arms what else will I need to get . Any assistance greatly appreciated

thanks in advance

Marty
Some say that she is ugy , just a relic from the past
new tractors do it better and new tractors do it fast
but to me she is a beauty , every curve and classic line

Looks like you really need all of it. Is there even a pump in your rearend? Yes, the pulley would have to go when using the three point but could be easily installed and used after if needed.. Your first hurdle will be a hydraulic pump and proper top cover. Then you will need the lift arms and brackets. It may be better for you to find another tractor with a bad engine and swap the parts from that. Dandy Dave!
