Hi Michael

Stick the o rings in place with grease. The top and bottom rings are different diameters and both engage with the liner at the same time. The grease will ensure that the liner slides into position without dislodging the o rings.

I rebuilt my 63 NP Super in the last year. Be glad to help where I can. This site has many expert contributors who have been a great help to me.

Adrian

I usually use 100% silicone form a gasket goo. It is called Permatex here and is sold under other names in other places. Same stuff. It works like grease when applied and dries like rubber when set. I have done a variety of motors this way and have never had a problem with a leaky bottom seal with this method. It does give added protection where there may be a crater or problem spot. Be sure that the surfaces are clean, oil free, and dry before applying. Dandy Dave!
