A few images you may find useful, taken from the New Fordson Major brochure printed in 1951. The cross-sectional view shows the oil levels in the gearbox and rear transmission, and, if you look closely, the seals.

Seems a shame to have lovely images like these trapped between the covers of a brochure sitting in a drawer when they could be enjoyed by such a knowledgeable and amazing group of people as the members of this forum.

great pictures

shows the starting carburettor on the tvo manifold , believe they didn't work so my old major has the dual tap on the fuel tank .
