Hi Everybody,
What is an acceptable length of time for the Super major lift to drop from full up to full down with a transport box (with approx. 250 kgs in it) and with the engine switched off. Mine takes about 45 minutes. I think this is a bit quick, otherwise my lift works perfectly and has great lifting power. All seals have been renewed in the lift.
Regards, Liam.

To be honest that's perfectly acceptable I can understand you might have hoped it was better with new seals, I'm assuming on your super has got draft control and the guidelines for acceptable corrections in a minute is 3/min with a set weight. It's noted more accurately than my memory in the service manual.

hi that seems ok the lift isnt supose to stay up for long peroids when not in use
it isnt good for the seals for lift to remain in raised position with engine off,
and can be dangerous
as long it doesnt drop with engine running an does its job you have nothing to worry about

Thanks for the replies fellas,The lift is set as per the instructions on this site and it works perfect and does not correct itself at all with a load on the arms.At the moment I am getting it ready for a respray.Liam.

Hi Liam
My Super corrects half a dozen times in two minutes with a Ransomes TS 102 on the back, and it will go from fully raised to being on the ground in the course of a day or so. All this after getting new seals and a new unloading valve plug, which had been leaking badly, causing the hydraulics to correct constantly with the plough on the back.
Oh, by the way ..........
Would be great to see some before and after respray pics.
Best
