Am i right in thinking that i need to fill the oil for the pump through the leak off pipe hole using a squirty oil can?
I have put a red circle in the picture.

Chris,
Your pump is lubricated by the diesel that leaks past the plungers. The bolt inside your red circle should be a hollow bolt and it should have a short pipe attached to it, so that the excess fuel can drip under the tractor when it gets too full.
If the inside of the pump has been cleaned or has been out of use for a long time, you can squirt a little
very clean oil in through the plate that you have open in the picture.
It does not need to be regularly lubricated with oil, diesel will do the job while its running.

Chris and JC,
The pipe should have a pig tale..

You're right, Henk, it should. It helps to keep dirt from getting into the pump. I have a better picture somewhere. When I find it, I'll post it.

Here's the picture of the pig tail line that I was looking for. It's a little dark. You may have to shade your monitor from any other light to see it.
