hi just collected new diesel major, backend casting is b22a, gearbox b25a, front axle 15b7, engine has no number in either location but bulkhead plate has engine no 1420006, date stamp on engine is 4d3.
is this likely to be original engine and do all th edate codes match up.
thanks Brett

B22A = Feb 22nd 1957
B25A = Feb 25th 1957
1420006 is last production day of Feb 1957
I do not understand 15B7 or 4D3 though.
Anyone else?
Mike

Hi Brett,
Mike is spot on with the B22A and B25A being Feb 1957. The front axle codes don't seem to conform to any date code format but you could probably guess 15 Feb 1957. The engine block code is post 1963 format and comes up as 3rd April 1964 according to my lists. I can't comment on the serial number as my list stops at 1952.
To me it looks like the engine has been replaced, but the rest of the tractor is original. I am only new at this date code thing so if I have stuffed it up please yell loud and long.
Regards, Frank.

thanks for the help, its nice to know that most of tractor is original, i guess it has had an off the shelf engine or similar as there is no engine number on it.
