toerental te hoog

bij het starten gaat de motor onmiddellijk in zeer hoge toeren;
pomp: SIMMS SPE4A75S527
motor/ 1363259
kan het zijn dat de dichting van de kulas kapot is er is geen water in de olie;

Hallo Patrick,
Heb je een vacuumpomp-pomp op je Major zitten?
Voorin (rond gedeelte) zit een rubber. Wellicht is dat gescheurd?
Hierdoor ontstaat er geen vacuum meer en "slaat de motor op hol".
Hi Patrick,
Do you have a vacuum governor? The rubber inside is probably broke, so there is no vacuum anymore.
That may explain the high revs.
change the rubber of the vacuum pomp

thanks for the reaction, it will be probably that rubber.
How can I replace it.
They told me i may never touch the the screw at te front of the fuel pump becuase otherwise the settings won't be correct anymore;
Any suggestions?

Patrick,
It is not a difficult job to replace the governor diaphram. You need to remove the governor pipes and then the cover on the front that the pipes go into. Note where the pipes go. Inside is a spring and the diaphram hooks onto the pump rack. It is simple to remove and replace.
Keep everything clean and you should be OK.
Don't worry about adjustments. The screw you talk about is to dampen the movement of the rack. You won't have to move it and if you get a problem, a small adjustment should clear it. The engine will "hunt" (rev up and down) and you can hear easily how it is affected as you adjust the screw.

one more question about the subject
What are the governor pipes: are those two pipes going from the front side of the pump to the air inlet
What do you mean by the cover on the front?
ther is also a little cap with a kind of filter in it what is the meaning of this?
do you have any picture,drawing of the pump with the denomination of the different elements
Where can I order this diaphram
sorry it is more than one question

Hello Patje,
Any NH dealer can sell you the diaphragm. On the old board I wrote the price some were. I thought it's about 35 euros.
The two pipes are the one to loosen. Be careful not to damage them.
The cap were Brian is revering to is the round one with the squire. One screw is not easy to remove. You have to use a small rattle. In the house there's a spring, so be careful when you take of the cap.
Just get the bolts out and you will see how easy it is.
Take a look at the parts list or
