hydraulics problem

Post by dextamad »

Hello everyone.I am new to this site.I have a 1963 super dexta which is giving me problems. The lif wont work unless i rev up the tractor and even at that when it starts to move i can stop it with my hand. When it stops i cant push it down though. Also there is only a small flow of oil coming from the tipping pipe.I have cleaned the filter feeding the pump and changed the oil.Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

If you have done all that then it can only be that the pump is faulty. The filter you would need to clean is the large canister one in the rear axle.

If it was a filter problem, when you revved the engine the hydraulics would normally slow down as the pump could not get oil through the blocked filter.
