Cracked engine block
Hi guys, I am looking for advise on whether or not a crack in the block it's on the back of the engine between the battery and the heads ,just between the frost plugs is as serious a problem as it looks, as this is a replacement engine for one that is cracked also, though it is in the more usual place behind the filter. ...many thanks

Some photos would help.

Mine had this.
I drilled both ends of the crack and and opened the crack out before cleaning well and then using a liquid metal.
I ahve since presure tested the system and no lekas but only time will tell.
That area of the block is not structual and to be honest, I would have welded it had I been able to find my high carbon rods!
