heater plug removal

mornin all

should my heater plug just unsrew ?

it will un do about 1 , 11/2 turns then binds ? do i have to remove the atomiser first ?
dont know if mine works cuz i never use it , cant feel it get hot so wanted to test it .

Mine just unscrews no problem although after about a turn or two the corners of the hexagon start to just catch the oil union on the side of the block so I need to wriggle it past that every 1/6th of a turn. Next time I take it out I will touch the hexagon corners with a file.
If yours is all dry and stuck maybe try pressing your diesel squirter button gently a few times to get some diesel around the thread from the inside.
