Hi All,
I have a 1960 dexta with a horndraulic loader and a heavy radiator protector around the front. It also has a roll-over hoop.
We have a small house with no space at the moment so the dexta is not being used but when we move house to wales it will be used all the time including in the gloomy evenings.
I got hold of some Ring work lamps at a car boot sale, new and in their box, for a quid so thinking of fitting those.
I am also going to fit some rear lights too and indicators and a trailer socket. I think I might just make a box with a big battery in it and a couple of switches and not rely on the tractor dynamo.
Where is best to put the forward facing lights?....
In front of the radiator? (requires surgery to the radiator protection grill)
Above the radiator? (yuck)
On top of the roll hoop (might get hit by trees)
On the sides of the roll hoop? (might be dazzling to the driver)

where best to put some lights
Re: where best to put some lights
With a loader tractor, I have seen them mounted on the upright posts towards the top, and I have seen them on the rear fenders facing forwards.... You might also use smaller ones in the grill protector area. I saw some LED tractor lights the other day that looked pretty impressive....They didnt match the period of our tractors though....

Re: where best to put some lights
Why not mount them in front of the radiator, as for New Style & Super Dextas? Just buy some grills to suit, or mod your existing grills. You might need to weld a couple of small brackets onto the front axle carrier (as per Super etc) onto which you bolt the head lights.
Strictly speaking the Super etc has slightly shallower head lights than the side-mounted lights on an early Dex.
