Dexta or Super Dexta

Post by mark. »

I have just bought a dexta or it might be a super dexta the code on the clutch/engine bell housing is 09B718990 and the engine number is 1532509 . It has the new version of the simms fuel pump it also has difflock,. I bought it of a lady who,s husband had restored the tractor but passed away 2 years ago. The tractor has the standard nose cone on it now but in the garage were the old badges of a super dexta. I have worked out from the serial number that it is July/August 1962 but I can not tell whether it is a dexta or a super dexta. I am being pulled towards a super dexta as it has difflock and the newer simms pump. was it only the super dexta that had difflock???? My serial number would fit in both dexta and super dexta as below can someone advise please.

The later Dexta had both a Minimec pump and a dif lock. The only difference really was the bonnet, nose cone, lift arms (dual category) and horsepower. On the earlier Dexta, dif.lock was an option.

Mark,
The Super Dexta engines started with a 16. Dextas started with 14 or 15. So you have a 144 cu in not a 152 cu in your tractor. However , My Super Dexta had her engine replaced with a 144 at sometime in her life. Could still be a Super Dexta with the standard engine.
