pjjms, the paint job on this petrol Dexta is not original, but as it is up in Warkworth, and judging by its appearance it looks like it has been used as a "boat" tractor. It has been said that the word "boat' is actually an acronym for "bring out another thousand"
TSG.

A mate of mine calls them "a hole in the water surrounded by wood into which you throw money". I'm always amazed how many boats (read money) rot on their mourings.
When I sold my last Dexta it turned out the guy used it for towing his boat. I thought it would be reduced rust in no time in that use, but it sounds like he treats it like his first born. From what I can find out my Nuffield also towed a boat for a few years just a few doors from the Dexta's new home. I'm told the Nuffield was washed down with great care every time and shows no signs of salt water damage. I guess its all about care and maintenance. No doubt there are many tractors in this life that defy the odds by still starting every time even when they contain more iron oxide than the Titanic.
