The online vugot.com (New Holland) parts list for Super D gives:
957E17365C CABLE Cable Assy., Years: 01/01/1957-04/30/1962
957E17365D CABLE Cable Assy., NH-E, A.C.Type, Years: 04/01/1962-12/31/1964

957E17360A Tachometer Assy., Miles, Years: 01/01/1957-08/31/1960
957E17360B Tachometer Assy., Kilos, NH-E, Years: 01/01/1957-08/31/1960
957E17360D TACHOMETER Tachometer Assy., Miles, Years: 08/01/1960-12/31/1964
957E17360F Tachometer Assy., Sweden, No Longer Serviced, Years: 08/01/1960-12/31/1964

I don't know what the difference in the tachos is. Maybe the gear ratios changed in 1960 :?: According to my rather inaccurate Dexta book, the proofmeter did indeed change in 1960. See:
http://www.fordsontractorpages.nl/ubb/F ... 00103.html and http://dexta.20m.com/photo4.html

And maybe the cables changed when the mechanical fuel pump arrived in 1962. Since you have a '63, I'm guessing you need the 'D' versions?? I believe the later cable is longer, so suggest you check the length.

I should put the problem to your supplier - he should know what he's selling for what!

Perhaps one of the gurus can enlighted us further?

Post Script:
I just serched the old site, see sticky top of here, and some folk say an MF 35/135 tacho may work (Bare-Co, calif)

Also try to fix your old tacho, nothing to loose :)

I don't know the length, but a quick search brings up this lot:

It looks like Speedograph Richfield are the ultimate experts on Dexta tachos, so you could contact them. They advertise a cable for Super Dexta, Their #6053-40, 959E 17365, £9.95.

Also suggest you pm Chug-a-lug see what he did for his S D.
All the best,

Hi there. Spotted this and thought I would add my experience. When I first took on the super dexta the proof meter was disconnected and the cable was bundled up in a coil. I wanted to restore its function but the cable seemed too short. I tried removing the proof meter cowl and mounting the dial directly in the dash as a quick fix to the length issue, but it still didn't reach. I spoke with Agriline as I understood there to be more than one length cable, and was told that Agriline only stocked the one length (i can't remember the dimension). I can confirm that the product fits and functions perfectly... I really must get around to refitting the cowl!

Any other questions just ask, although i'm no expert compared to others on here!

For United States Dexta Owners:

Don't buy Dexta parts from YT Mag. CHEAP.
I have 3 Dextas, and I bought 2 proofmeter from YTmag, one for a Dexta and one for a ford 4000. Cheap parts, broke immediately, and I owned them.

Don't buy cheap parts. YTMAG won't warranty. Cheap = hmmmm... Cheap.

I am still running my Ford dealer proofmeters, and my dealer gave me a 100 hour warranty.

Crappy service pisses me off.
