Hello dexta fans There sure isn't much chatter on the web page this winter ( I miss it)

Would like to know if there was any differnce between the super dexta (2000) that was exported to the US market.and the super dexta that stayed in Europe on your side of the pond. I am talking the look of the tractor(tin work and such) I have the 2000 super dexta 1963 and people think this is the world series because it is badged 2000 the front badge says super dexta but hood sides are 2000. Did the ones that stayed in Europe have super dexta on the hood sides.if so was this a decal or a metal badge. if so are the decals or badges still available. I would like to change mine over (someday) if the look is the same
Thanks Jerry

I'm not an expert by any means on Dexta's but I always thought the double naming (Dexta 2000 etc) was during the crossover between the Dextas/Majors and the 000 series tractors. I thought the Dexta was the 2000, Super Dexta the 3000, Major the 4000 and the Super Major the 5000. Going on that system though, the Major finished well before the Major/4000 series came out in 1965. The Decals instead of badges were an American thing I think.
I can't tell you if the double naming started during the Dexta/Super Major series as a prelude to the 000 series, or started with the 000 series, as a connection to the prevoius Dexta/Majors.
Hope this helps, and dosent confuse you even more.
If I'm incorrect, please feel free to re-educate me

The North American Super Dexta were almost the same as the UK market build, the parking brake was a ratchet latch beside the diff lock as the other footplate was used for the optional battery. The bonnet has no super Dexta badge just Ford 2000 diesel decals. The sales brochure shows them with blue grills, front lights but no fender lights, some had Ford decals on the fenders, most had front bonnet guards fitted the same as 8&9n 's. Wheel weights and power adjustable wheels are common, I have seen some with no auxiliary divert valve or flow control, just a flat blanking plate on the top cover, most ones left working have the alternator kit fitted which is available as a kit in the US Canada.

PS Jerry, most ones this side of the pond have only a small Fordson decals each side of the bonnet ,which are easy to get, this might be hard to believe, but I am waiting on a 1963 US Ford 2000 like yours coming(along with an other odd build ) I'll say no more till they come, cheers.

Jerry,
I think I saw in an earlier post that yours was a Jan/63 model.
Can you tell if the original colour of the fenders was blue or were they the New Performance grey (cream, off white)? And were the rims orange or grey?
River,
The '62 Super Dextas I have seen in our area (Western Canada) came with metal 'Fordson' badges rather than decals on both sides of the hood and were attached with 2 pins through and held with clips on the inside.
I don't know how the New Performance Super Dextas where marked in this area but I see that in Eastern Canada a number have the Ford 2000 Super Dexta decals on them. I understood that this marking was only for the US market??
I wonder if they were marketed that way in Eastern Canada or they came across the border north as some Petrols went south or they were just repainted and the decals were more available or more reasonably priced than badges??
All the Super Dextas out here I have seen come with the 26" (ooops, I mean 24") rear tires with no rim holes for attaching wheel weights. Must be spec'd different for different regions.
Also wonder if all Fordson Super Dextas (including '62 batch) for the US market were renamed Ford Super Dexta 2000 or maybe just the New Performance ones.
I might need help here but I think there were atleast 3 models of the Ford 2000. Ford 2000 ('62/65 Ford 4 cyl gas and diesel), Ford Super Dexta 2000 ('62/64 Fordson Super Dexta with F3.152 3cyl diesel) and Ford Dexta 2000 and Super Dexta 3000 ('65/75 Ford 3cyl gas and diesel).
Cheers
