Ive just discovered that the clutch on my newly acquired dexta is either gone, or stuck to the flywheel. When you depress the clutch nothing happens, i.e if the engine was running you would still move, its been sat for 12 years so do you reckon it could be stuck to the flywheel? How would i go about finding out if it is?
If it turns out the clutch is faulty what are they like to change (ive never split one before)

IMHO It's stuck.
However you try and un-seize it it may well be damaged.
I would bite the bullet and split it, clean the flywheel face, replace the clutch plate, pilot and thrust bearings and you can then relax knowing that that part of your dexta has a new lease of life.
While you are relaxing you can contemplate all the other jobs that need doing on your Dexta.

It is probably stuck. It happens a lot when a piece of machinery is idle for a long time in a damp climate.

You may be able to use the stuck engine to your advantage. Put the transmission in high gear and have someone pull you with another tractor, while you hold the clutch pedal down. That may break the clutch loose. No guarantee that it will work like it should after its loose, though.

thanks for your replys, yes i reckon its stuck aswell because its a live drive model, and the pto doesnt disengage either. im going to try and get the engine going first, then i will test it more. hopefully it will unstick itself, is the best way to split it with an engine crane?

This seems as the usual clutsj prob,s.- Split the tractor and look good at the releaseparts (small bo0lts, and all adjust screews, also check the thickness of deskplate,s) if it is dual clutsj it,s doble up of smallbolts, and also doble up of adjustscreews. It is nesessary to measure the differanse beetwen thre adjustscreews for clutsj-deskplate and the three adjustscreews for the pto deskplate.
You have to use a paralell-measure from the adapterplate, and to "booth thrust" edges (doubleclutsj) for the adjustscreews. (this measure have to compare for adjusting the thrustedge in the clutsj housing, (front of clutsjhousing is similar with adaptorplate) and after the clutsjpedal is right adjusted down 19mm. It is easy to adjust for single clutsj, but moore difficoult to adjust for double clutsj, but remember to take the measurement for the differanse between new deskplates...medium thikness of deskplates, and if you measure between usless deskplates you will find another differanse between back-sides of clutsjdeskpl. and to backsides of the pto deskplate.
