I have lost all my bookmarks of tractor information, including this site until I found it yesterday. Could someone help me remember some of the parts sources. I need an oil bath filter for my Super Dexta.

Stick a cone filter on.

You mean like a K&N, is that what you mean by a cone. If so, What are the opinions about this?

Yep something like a K&N but it don't need to be an expensive one. My opinion, perhaps not others, are that if your going to be working the tractor in dusty conditions , or you want her to be somewhat original, then stick with the oil bath. Iv'e had a cone on mine for over a year, do Road Runs, top a bit of grass, and it's fine. just need a big grommet to block the hole in the bonnet. .

I suppose that a K&N would be as efficient as an oil bath, but not nearly as good as a paper filter. I have seen turbos and cylinders ruined by K&Ns on modern engines. I would stay with the original air cleaner, if I were you.

if it has worked for 50 years, why change it?

I bought a complete unit from agriline for my dexta. and the price was right!

Your right JC , Even i would not recomend anyone fitting a cone filter , was just that my oil bath original was totaly shot when i did the refurb and needed something quick , a cone was an option, trying to find a good second hand oil bath one, , A modern paper type filter would perhaps be worth thinking about, bit like the one on later models MF135's . easy to service. jim.
