Dynamo

Hello Everyone,

After putting in new loom and starting tractor put the dynamo seem to be getting hot is this a problem?

hi there ,you can do a few simple checks on your dynamo to confirm its working ok one is disconnect the two wires at the dynamo d and f terminals and short the two terminals together then connect a volt meter between the shorted terminals and earth. run your engine up to 1000 rpm volt meter should rise to about 24v. the other test you can do with the engine stopped and the fan belt of the dynamo is to run a wire from the battery negative to the shorted terminals on the dynamo, it should now run like an electric motor. i am assuming your dexta is positive earth. if these tests are ok any fault would be in the wiring or regulator.
