hour clock proofmeter

hi when ticking over the clock is reading 1400 to 1500 revs and when using her at about 1800 revs the clock needle is showing well off the scale. does the clock need repairing or is it somthing simple . dont want to replace clock realy as hours still correct thanks

It sounds as if your tachometer requires to be re calibrated, which isn't really a DIY option.

Click on the link below for Speedograph Richfield, who I can recommend as they recalibrated a tachometer for me and if you tell them they will not reset the running hours. If I remember correctly the cost was about the same as buying a replacement.

Incidentally they also repaired an original temperatrure gauge for me.
