Hi, I am nearing the end of the restoration of my 58 Dexta, and I am about to re-instate the hydraulic lift cover, however I have run into an issue, in that the lift lever seems stuck.
It has been stuck ever since I had the tractor, but I have since removed the hydraulic cover, cleaned everything and re-installed however it is still stuck, i.e. it won't move more than about 1" from the bottom of the quadrant.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Mark

hi
do you meen the quadrant lever its self or the hydraulic arms ?
i guess you ve tryed lots of penatrating fluid , wd 40 ect. ?
a flash of heat can do wonders , but easy to break thing to
at least u have some movement tho , would be worse with no movement at all .
give it a gd soak,. red diesel is a gd lube , penatrater if the item can be immersed fully and left few a week or so to soak. diesel and new paint dont mix tho

Would think the lever shaft is seized. You will need to remove the lever and quadrant to get to the shaft and its tube. You may have to strip out the lift linkage to withdraw the shaft and free it off.

Hi Brian/Tom,
Today I reluctantly unbolted and lifted the top cover off the tractor again
Looking at the manual I realized that the second of the levers, attached to the shaft of the quadrant, was not supposed to be seized to the shaft!
So dismantling the entire hydraulic assembly again I heated, and gently tapped until it became free again.
A quick wire brush and some copper grease should see it staying that way!
Just need to set up the linkages again now before replacing the cover.
Fingers crossed it will work ok.
