Oil Bath Assembley Bowl/Cup. Difference in sizes?

Hi once again.

I bought a second hand replacement oil bath for my 59 Dexta, the one wit the friction assembley attached. Now the bowl with the replacement one is shorter than the original and does not have the 'fill to exact oil level' lettering on it. The new one is a lot tidier than the old and I was wondering would it make much of a difference if i fitted the smaller one, rather than the original?

Thanks again gents!

i have changed the bowls on the two types with no differance in preformance .
ihve also inter changed the compleat units without any differance , as long as you have them well
cleaned out . should be good to go, :) Gerry

I recently purchased an oil bath filter for the bowl. It will not fit the smaller bowl, but does fit the larger bowl with 'exact fill level' marked on both sides. There must be two different types of filters?

Does the replacable filter be immersed in oil, or does it sit above the oil level mark? And on the subject of oil gents... A classic question: Is 15w40 good enough to use in the air cleaner?

On reflection im going to clean up and use her original bowl. The filter fits it and it would be wrong not to use an original part.
