Hi All
I'm wondering if anyone can help, I'm lookin for the larger of the 2 plates thats rivited to the bulkhead of the dexta, it has the starting insturctions on it.
I have been told that a reproduction of this is not available, is this true?
If not, can someone post up a picture for me as I am going to try and make a reproduction myself to fit to my tractor.
The plate I have is far to faded to read anything that is supposed to be on it!
Thanks in advance for your help.
Derick

Did you establish which Dextas had these plates? Pretty sure mine only ever had the small plate.

Wonder where these plates were destined for, I do not think they were a standard fitting. The information on the transmission oils are wrong according to Fords service letters and data, here in Europe.
Fords initially did advise 140W in gearbox and rear axle according to the early manuals but this changed to 20/30W in 1958, when they discovered that heavy oils were slow through the many small oil galleries in the lift.
The plate is similar to one that was fitted to the early Majors.

The top picture is a photo of the plate on my Dexta, I posted it some time ago. The tractor is early 1958, Serial No 957E 834, and the plate would appear to be original fitting, although it was covered in black from the exhaust and I only found it when I was fitting a new clutch plate.
Bob.
