dexta struggling to start

hi, i am woundering if anyonw would know why my dexta isnt starting properly.the engine is fully recontioned except the fuel pump.it takes about a minute to start :? but once i start it and stop it it starts first turn :?: any help will be usefull

Are you using the heater and primer?
If so are they working?

air in fuel system , wont start till its primed its self ???? just a thought

i am using the primer but im not using the heater as i dont have it on yet. the desiel pump wouldnt be an issue?

have you tried to bleed the fuel system by slackening the bleed screw on top of the fuel filter,then at the injector pump,then finally slacken the injector pipes up at the injector?

I would think the lack of heater is the problem. Priming with fuel is not the way to start - it needs heat

yes i bled everything.i will get the heater on it and try it then :D

Speaking of heaters, we have what we guess to be a 61 Dexta diesel. Wher is the heater supposed to go? It does not have glow plugs.

On the air inlet manifold, RH side of the engine. :wink:
