Hi we have a 1964 super dexta, which we have been working on, when we got it, it didnt run the engine block was cracked just under the exhuast and the injection pump needed new seals. we have worked around these problems and it is now working fine the only real problem we are having is with the hydraulic lift it doen't seem to lift high enough and when you stop it it just bounces up and down we have changed the oil but it is still the same. has anyone any ideas as to what is wrong?
Thanks

Does it lift well upto the point where it starts doing odd things?
Mine had a worn out pin that runs on the cam on the lift arm under the top cover. That meant it would only go part way without the lever being moved beyond the quadrant. (The previous owners fix. Which is a bad thing to do)
When it bounces does it lift up quickly and then creep down, lift quickly and creep down etc?
If it does that it might be that the valving is working ok but the piston seal is maybe knackered so it creeps down until the cam inside pushes the levers inside opening the valves which make it lift again until the cam reaches the set height and then stops. Then it leaks down again and so the cycle continues.
Mine works ok now but the control linkages are still worn so adjustment and function is not as good as a new one would have been.
