Steering adjustment

I have a 59 Dexta and there is a lot of play in the steering wheel. How do I adjust the steering to take the play out of the wheel.

there are shims on the steering column and the steering box , there is a formula for adjustment in the dexta manual or you can do it by trial and error i.e. , start with the box firstmove a shim or two and put back together and try it , you may have to renew the nut and bearing on the steering column
