Why hydraulics won't hold steady?

I have had my Super Dexta for a long time, still can't figure out why my mower slowly drops to the ground and then has to be raised to the appropriate height again as i use it, especially in a bumpy area--my hydraulics have always seemed to work OK otherwise, it'll lift the mower to max height and hold it there indefinately--how do i get the mower to "lock" in the position/height I want it to so i can mow without re-raising it every 15 seconds?

Could this "slowly dropping lift" problem be related to a dirty filter or worn cam follower pin--just wanted an opinion before I start taking it apart..? thanks!

I run a Woods RM-59 on my SD. I set the toplink on the 3 point to hold the front height of the mower with the hydraulics set to lowest position. The wheels on the mower deck hold the rear deck height. Then I adjust the level box to level the deck side to side. This setup needs no hydraulics to maintain height and still lifts the mower when I need it too.

I have had instances where for some reason, the mower will hit a bump and lift. Then it hangs there for a while till I cycle the hydraulics up then back down. Not sure what that is , maybe he qualitrol feature, which I don't really understand has something to do with it..
