A little work for ol'Blue

My son and I are changing the engine in a Jeep project. I arrived home with the engine in the back of my pickup, and needed to get it into the front of the shop, across some bumpy terrain.... so here is my toy. I took a standard engine hoist and welded hitch pins on the bottom legs. Then I welded a bracket to connect the top link into. Its not quite as handy as a front loader, but it works awesome, for hanging engines and moving heavy stuff...

What a good idea.

I was considering fabricating a crane with a hydraulic ram to fit on the back of the dexta for just such jobs as you decribed. However I will have a close look at my engine hoist to see if it can be modified to suit the three point linkage on my Dexta.

Great idea Dave. If I didn't have a loader I would give your idea a try.
