Front axle 'tie bars'

Hi guys...back to post again on here after a break of a few years. Not found the timne to do any work on tractors for a few years. Been building electric bicycles for a few years.,..well still am..but one of the Dextas need work before selling it.

Can't think of the proper name for them, but the bars that are not the steering bars that connect the axle back to just below in front of the pedals...

I am just replacing a set on a tractor that had a front end loader on it..and they are distinctly banana shaped and front axle bushings totally gone.
I have a spare set here with a slight bend in them...or do they? are they supposed to be totally straight and symmetrical or is there a slight curve on them.

if so which way is up..curved side up I imagine.
If they should not have a slight curve..should I fit them the other way than they generally get bent in the hope it will bend back slowly again over time?

Thanks

Neil

Neil,

Common Dexta problem - the radius rods should be straight.

Get them straightened in a press - not that hard to do.

Thanks for reply..I did not get an e-mail message saying you had replied.

The ones that were bent are very bad, the good ones are only maybe half an inch out of true maybe less. Not worth getting them straightened..The really bad ones can go to the dump.
