hello

My Dexta generator is not charching anymore

1 The starting key is in the right position
2 The battery has not enough power to start the engine (my car has towed it, the engine ran directly)
3 The green sharging light glowed at lower speed then 900tpm and higher than 1100rpm, at 1000 rpm no glowing light
4 Strange when I phused the glow switsh the charging light burns brightly
5 After driving the tractor longer than half an hour the engine could not start at own power of the battery.
6 After charging the battery by an loader 220V the engine ran directly

where do I have to start search what is wrong?

Auke (sorry for my bad english)

sorry but the green light should be oil pressure, red light should be ignition light, seems like wiring is incorrect. If battery is not charging, I suggest you test the output from the dynamo first

hi, unless you have some one who is good with electrics , i would start with battery, replace it , at least
then you will know it is good,
then it will be dymo, starter ect you will just have to work your way through these,
there are plenty of electric digrams on this site just put in wiring into search at top
right of page and something should come up good luck sky blue

Unless that battery is OLD:
Personally, I would start with a multi-meter.
That way you will know when it factually starts charging.
Second, I would recharge the battery to 12.5 volts, not fully charged, but almost. By slave cables or charger. If thats a difficult task to only charge to a certain point, fully charge it, pull the engine stop and spin the starter for 15 seconds. Or wait and spin after cooling for another 15. Now the battery will need a small charge again, but will crank the tractor fine.

Here is why. I had a Dexta with generator that was not charging, and it was simply one of the wires at the regulator with a slide on contact that had slid off. It was obvious where it went, so put it back and everything worked and charged again correctly. (I soldered it, and it remains soldered)

the dynamo might need to be re-polarised.
