HI
I have a 61 Dexta. While plowing snow this winter it quit running When I bought it I noticed a lot of rust in the fuel tank.
I have the tank loose ( to take off and clean / seal ) but can't get any further.
Do you have to take the 2 piece steering box shaft apart or dis assemble the oil resivour at the top of the steering shaft.
Must be a easier way.
Thanks in advance
Dave

Make sure all is disconnected including fuel tap, temp. guage etc., with all disconnected it simply lifts off :buddies:

Please be careful when removing the temp. gauge, it has a long protected tube that goes along to the thermostat housing situated above the water pump. Release the square nut/nipple and slide it back and gently try and remove the sensor. Some of the sensors are rather difficult to remove. My experience was to remove the thermo housing and that will give you a view of the sensor. You may use wd40 spray to assist and put slight pressure on the sensor bulb. Good luck if you have not already removed it.
