First job - heavy steering.
I have managed to remove the spindles  (are they called kingpins?). They are deeply scored around and there was a huge amount of play. I have ordered up replacement spindles and a kingpin kit from a.......

Please can you help with my questions.
What is the best way to remove the bushings?
What is the best way to fit the new ones? And do they have to be reamed to take the spindles?

Would it be wiser to take the axle castings to a local engineering firm and get them to do it? :D

Many thanks
John

Have you seen the Workshop Manual - see Dexta sticky.

This may be helpful: http://www.fordsontractorpages.nl/phpbb ... f=3&t=2060
but I've not done it myself!

hi i used a screw driver to tap down between housing and bush
,and collpase the bush and tap it out . do the same tap and bottom ,fitting the new ones
just tighten the housing up in vice and tap new ones in making sure they are propley
linned up, the hardest part was taking housing axel end off, the bushes were handy to do never reamed
them after fitting the bushes and mine are ok but this is really up to yourself :) :)
good luck sky blue

Thanks for the replies chaps.
The manual refers to a removal tool T3049 which looks like a sort of reamer and an insertion tool T3050 which looks a tapping in tool.
I think I will have a go myself, might cost me some extra bushings but worth a go. Hopefully I don't need a reaming tool like in the link.
The parts never turned up today. I got a text saying next Tuesday now. Oh well.
