is this the heater on my super dextra

I think I have found the heater. It is not hooked up of course. If this is it is there any way to test it to see if it works?
yes that is the heater ,screw it out and test it on abattery
put the thread bit on the neg termnal and touch the part were the wire goes on with a
spanner or piece of copper wire from the positive termnal
the coil inside the heater should come up bright red if its working
