hi
hi all been away for a few years but came back and both dextas fired up no problems.
i want to change gearbox oil, currently a bit white as water got in via gear stick assembly - how do i get rid of white stuff before putting in new oil. It seems daft to put in new stuff knowing theres likely to be some old residue

The recommended way to clean out both gearbox and rear axle/hydraulics was to mix about 1 gallon of oil with 1 gallon of kerosene (Definitely not diesel which will affect the "O"rings"), then run around for about 30 minutes with no load, then drain. Any of the mixture that remains in the compartments will happily mix with the new oil with no ill effects. In fact Ford recommended 1 gallon of kerosene be put into the oil on the 2000 and 3000 to aid with hydraulic cavitation that these tractors can suffer with.
