Ploughs

Went around to my dealer friend looking for a grass rake. (Don't ask what I came away with, will post that next week).
He has for sale two of the sweetest looking Dearborn 2 furrow ploughs that have arrived from Kansas. They are rusty but have that smooth rust that looks and feels good, surface rust. Just need to be wiped down with an oily rag. The metalwork is "as new" but neither have discs or skimmers.
They only arrived today, otherwise I would have borrowed one for this weekend at Brimfield!

I did not have my camera but will rectify ASAP
Of course, I could fit one on the trailer with Dotty for Meddo!

No objections from over here I think, but the 1940's PM plough is interesting too off course.

Brian, when you said they did not have disc's or skim's, i had to wonder if like some other plough's you see in the US, if they had trash boards. searched tractorhouse.com and they look quiet different to the ones on there, Why would that be do you think

The one's in your pic's are quiet like Fergy ploughs, could they date back to the Ford Ferguson era? .

They pre-date the Fergy implement range. The design comes from Sherman, I believe and these ploughs could be early 1940's.
Don't forget, Harry Ferguson stole/borrowed the design of the tractor and implements from Henry Ford, also the modifications Ford did to his hydraulic design to get it to work correctly. (allegedly). He only ever designed the principle of operation.
(Ooops those Blue injections I had in the 1950;s and 1960's were really strong)
