Panningen festival 2011, The Netherlands

Hi guys,
Last weeks I have been working to get my tractor ready for the Panningen festival in The Netherlands.
That's a large festival with about 2,000 oldtimer tractors. It's about a 180 km (110 miles) drive.
I only have to spray and mount the grilles in the nose cone.
I will remove the "rain coat" on the show.
Last Saturday a friend on mine and myself drove to Frans his house. Frans lives about half way for us.
He is so generous to borrow us his shed for a couple of days.

Next Friday we will drive the last 90 km.
Being Dutch, we will bring our bikes with us of course...
We need them to ride form our hotel to the festival.
I hope other members of this board will join us at the festival.

Pascal,... we will be waiting for pictures to be posted on the forum.

Is the Super Dexta quicker than the Major?

Thank you, Henk. Looking forward to meet you there!
Hi TSG,
The Superdexta is much faster than my SuperMajor

...ik guess about 10 km/h faster?
Luckily he's follwing me, since I have the navigation unit on my tractor.

I guess I have the only
SuperMajor with onboard navigation

Have a safe Journey! And don't let the Dextas pass you by. If they do, just pop a wheelie and squash em like a bug.

Hi guys,
Yesterday afternoon we came back from the festival in Panningen.
The SuperDexta certainly didn't managed to pass me by

....since we couldn't start it at all yesterday morning.
After trying for about an hour we gave up, and I towed the SuperDexta home....180 km (about 110 miles)...with a (long) rope.
Not really an ideal situation, but we managed to do the trip in about 7 hours.
Luckily a friend of mine improved my 590e (it didn't pull that well) at the festival, so no bridge was to high for me!!
Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to take many pictures. Maybe Henk or Frans?
Some County's
A very nice serie!

Pascal,
Glad you both have made it home.
Did your friend manage to repair the cooling system? Or was that the thing that the Dexta would not start.
Your pump is certainly better, 180 in 7 that's almost 26 km/h. Did you not stop? I think your friend did not have a pleasant journey. Keeping his eye on the rope the whole day.
I have taken some pictures but there much the same like yours.
It was nice to meet you and Frans again and the others from the FFCN.

Hi Henk,
We don't know why the SuperDexta didn't start.
Because we left about an hour late, we decided to drive a bit faster than normal (28 km/h) and stop not too much for a break.
It was quite a journey indeed, while looking at the rope. Luckily my tractor started and was able to bring us both home.

I like that Super Major Crawler. Looks like it had very little use. Sweet.

I just brought another old crawler, and parts tractor home recently, but it is the wrong color for you guys. It's an IHC T- 20 with a Bucyrus blade. I just could not help myself...

... I bought it for scrap price, got it running, pulled the parts machine out of the mud with it, and drove it on the trailer.

Hi Pascal
I have always thought the bonnet/engine cover of the S/Dexta was a bit uninteresting especially the 1964 model with only the Fordson sticker. The orange wheel S/Dexta had the metal Fordson badge which looked nice. I noticed you had fitted the Fordson Dexta badge from the Dexta which I really think looks cool

. I was just looking at my old Dexta bonnet this week and thinking I could fit them on my S/Dexta. The more decorations the smarter they look. Thanks for the idea.
