Owning a fordson major in London: is it feasible? Would I be allowed to drive around town on it. My background is farming in Eire as a child in the 1960's. My father had 2 supermajors and I have a nostalgic love of these machines.

Welcome to the forum Handel
The highway is the highway so in theory you ought to be able to use it, however the local borough councils might have bylaws restricting certain vehicle types, it would be worth asking the question, in my experience local libraries are a nice helpful resource (with no axe to grind) as a starting point, or perhaps one of the national tractor clubs.
One of the very knowledgeable chaps hereabouts may already know.
I wonder what sort of reply a letter direct to Boris Johnson would get - and where you fall for Conjestion Charge on a (presumably) Tax Exempt historic vehicle
A convoy of Fordsons with loaded muckspreaders down Whitehall would be noticed and show which way the wind was blowing..............
Will watch your progress with interest
Rick

Handel,
Beware of waking up sleeping dogs. Sometimes it's better to use the just do it tactic. Be sure to run on the right diesel colour.
Would be a great sight for the locals.
