Power major from Sweden

Post by MajorMagnus »

This is my first post here, although I've been lurking for a while... I live in Sweden and have been interested in old tractors for a while. At the moment I've got 5 of them. I'm currently restoring a Power Major, built in May 1960. This is what I started with:

I used it like this for a while ploughing snow in the winter. We get a lot of snow and it's cold. The Power Major never failed to start. I changed some of the panels since some of them were rusted through as well as removing the safety frame. This is what it looked like in the summer:

It was parked up in late summer due to an exploded rear tire. That's when I decided to restore it. It runs very well and clutch, gearbox and brakes are working as the should. Hydraulics are not what they should be so they will be overhauled as well as changing rear axle seals. This is what some of it looks like today:

I have limited space so I'm waiting for the weather to improve. Meanwhile, all that can be removed from the skid has been sanded and primed in the basement :D I want to keep it fairly original and I hope to have it finished by late summer.

Not a lot of progress here lately  I managed to get some paint and do some spraying in late summer.

I've decided to get going again during the winter and hopefully it'll be on its own wheels by late summer.
