Flushing out Hydraulic systems

Post by MartyBoyce »

G'dau all ,

I need to clean out the hydraulic system on the bucket arms , it has had whatever sort of oil was available in it over the past couple of years and while I recondition the ram seals it is probably best to clean out the entire system . Question is what is the best thing to flush through the system without causing damage to hoses etc ?

cheers,

Marty

Brian says a 10:1 kerosene/eng oil mix can be used to flush out the back axle / hydraulics: http://www.fordsontractorpages.nl/phpbb ... 40&p=14786
Might be best to check with him first though.

As per the answer on my other post , the hydraulics are run from a front mounted tank spearate fromt he rear drive , but a kero oil mixture sounds ok , my major concern was not to use something that would perish or damage the hoses etc

Thanks,
Marty
