Front Nose Dexta

Post by islander »

Im not sure if anyone on here has changed the front nose on their dexta? I got one from agriline to put on my petrol dexta and its not fitting  . Sadly I threw my old one in the dump so i cant check the measurments. Its gonna take a lot of work to motify and make it fit perfect. I wonder if the petrol has the same nose as the deisel?

What measurements do you need?

The parts list doesn't list a different nose cone for petrol, so assume it's the same.

Oh, that's a problem - always best to do a trial fit first. :(

And never throw anything away till you're sure you have a satisfactory replacement.

Still take some pics, email A..line showing the problem and ask them, "Are all their nose cones this bad? Or can they do you a deal with a better fitting one (thus enhacing their reputation)?"

This is a constant problem and nothing seems to be done about it. Send it back, get your money back for the nose cone and the transport. Be aware though that most nose cones have problems no matter where you get them. Contact your supplier and tell them your problem and give them a chance to sort it out. Tell them you are claiming back transport costs. The problem is theirs, not yours.

I put one from Sparex on Dotty and it is around 10mm too small so the bonnet slopes forward and the radiator filler hose is not at the correct angle.

It is always best to repair an old one or pick up a good second hand one.

The nose cone is the same for both petrol and diesel although the radiator is different.

I got one from Southern Counties, same problem but with a lot of bashing about, eventually made it fit, that was in 2010 so things haven't changed! :eyes: :eyes:

the nose has to come down to line up with the bolt holes but its touching the radiator although i think if it came down the nose would be too low ...it also has to come in but the bottom of the nose is touching the front end of the tractor. I can modify and weld new brackets to bring it up but im scared about how the hood will fit. anyway nothing is impossible it just takes time .

I would try fitting the hood (bonnet). That's normally where any misalignments show worst.

Nice looking tractor.
