FMD HANDBRAKE
FMD HANDBRAKE
is it possible to replace the hand brake without having to split the tractor

Short answer - No, if you mean the plates etc.
You also have to drain the rear axle, draw the PTO shaft, drop the front PTO gear housing, remove the Hi/Low selector and main gear selector through the gear selector side plate, split the tractor, remove the clutch shaft and thrust bearing, then draw the inner gearbox out through the clutch housing.
That is the long answer

The handbrake never needs adjusting once set.
If you have problems with it, then it is best to get it sorted as soon as possible because it can damage the gearbox housing. If you have a problem, yours may already be damaged.
