pre set linkage control
hi there folks someone who lives close to me has been scrapping a few majors this week and i have been stripping as many spares as i can ie pump, pto gearbox,top cover for hydraulics,front hubs etc and one of the things was a pre set linkage control has anyone used one and do i need a special top link it breaks my heart to see all these tractors being scrapped but scrap is about£250 per tonne so he is cashing them in

I'm not sure what a preset linkage control is.  Do you have a picture of it?
I hate it when people scrap Majors, too. The good thing is that they only weigh 2 1/2 tons, so even when scrap is high, they're not too expensive to buy before they go to the scrap yard.
I also like old Cat bulldozers. When scrap gets this high, you just have to wave good-bye when they're on their way to the junk yard

 Started it up and drove it out of the storage shed. The owner said it was me, or the scrap yard.

I have a 1936 RD-4, a 1942 D-8, and a 1944 D-7.
